Feature Set:  

Adobe Photoshop Album can quickly retrieve, organize or edit photos, often in only a few simple steps.

Photoshop Album can swiftly pull images from a file, camera, card reader, scanner, CD or even from a mobile device. The program also enables you to preview images before they are downloaded into the program, so you can obtain the exact image you want.

Through Photoshop Album, you can view photos by many categories including by day, week, month or year. Images can be tagged by name, place, event and you can add notes. It has a unique feature called a sliding timeline that lets you focus on a specific duration.

Photoshop Album enables even inexperienced photographers and computer users to alter or correct images with one–click, such as Auto Fix that corrects by darkening or lightening, Color Fix or Sharpen. Easily fix redeye, crop or add/remove filters or change to B/W or sepia. You can view the original and the edited version side by side, so you can compare the versions easily, and if you do not like your changes, just click the undo button.

Photoshop Album enables users to share images in numerous ways including slideshows, photo emails, video CDs (that can be played on a TV), greeting cards, eCards, calendars or photo books. It also contains a variety of printing templates that can easily print from your home computer or share online through Kodak EasyShare Gallery or transfer images to a mobile phone, Palm OS handhelds or TiVo DVR.

Photoshop Album also has a 3D Gallery where photos can hang on a gallery wall for display. This is the only program we came across that has anything like this.

Ease of Use:  

Again, Adobe has developed another high quality, well–designed and easy to use product. Many of Photoshop Album’s options have step–by–step instructions. To begin with, when you start the program, a Quick Start Guide pops up and you can choose from Get Photos, Organize, Find, Fix, Create and Share. Just click on an icon and a quick tutorial will play to help you learn how to use that feature.

Ease of Installation:  

We did not encounter any problems downloading or installing the program.

Help/Support:  

Photoshop Album posts a well–written searchable help file online. The instructions are easy to understand, regardless of your computer knowledge. We had questions relating to adding tags to our photos, we found an abundance of easy to read information relating to this subject.

Adobe also supports user forums and live support when you register your product; this is via telephone and in most cases is complimentary. However, we would like to see Adobe’s support pages easier to search in order to make finding a specific topic faster.

Summary:  

Photoshop Album is easy enough for even recreational photographers, yet can handle the workload of professional photographers. In terms of photo organizing, this capable product can help you become more orderly than you ever imagined, and can place your images at your fingertips instead of scattered across your hard drive.
